Sports physiotherapy involves first prevention and when necessary evaluation of an injury and any necessary protection of the injured tissue to aid recovery. Followed with appropriately timed work to improve or restore any necessary flexibility, strength, postural control or muscle-imbalance. Ultimately a sports physio aims to enhance an athletes performance, aid recovery from injuries, all while providing advice, education and a program to prevent further injury.

Sports Injuries High Wycombe
Sports Injuries High Wycombe

Sports injuries commonly occur to people participating in sporting events. In many cases, the injuries are due to overuse, direct impact, or the application of force that is greater than the body part can structurally withstand.

Sports injuries can broadly be categorised as being due either to traumatic or overuse injuries. Traumatic injuries account for most injuries in contact sports such as rugby league, rugby union, football, and hockey because of the dynamic and high impact nature of these sports. These injuries range from bruises and muscle strains, to fractures and head injuries. A Tennis elbow sprain or a rotator cuff strain from bowling at cricket is typical of overuse injuries due to their highly repetitive and mechanically stressful nature.

No matter what your level of activity or how you acquired your injury you can be confident that you will have professional and personalised care to help you return to your training regime or to meet your sporting goals.

A FEW WORDS FROM OUR CLIENTS

“Great service, fantastic knowledge and for me I loved that it was specific to trying to get me back playing football after several knee opps. Highly recommend!”

Adam, High Wycombe

“Fraser Jackson is an excellent physiotherapist. Whenever I have need to see him, I leave the clinic in a lot less pain, this continues at each session. Not only is my pain greatly relieved, but my mental health improves as well.”
